On Movement and things I believe are right

No matter how hard, do not take a pause. The faster the motion, the less friction there is. Prioritise movement above all other things. Always be doing something. Let everything happen to you, the beauty and the terror, but keep the motion going. No feeling is final; never rest because the motivation is in the momentum. So do things fast. Thinking is an enemy of creativity. Stay in motion.

Keep Scheming

This still revolves around being in motion and having something in your pipeline. Gamble, take risks and do things just to do them. They don’t have to end up a win, the goal is to experience everything. A win often offsets 10s of losses. Quoting a Jay Z line,

“I will not lose for even in defeat, there is a valuable lesson learned, so it evens up for me”.

Go out there and find new experiments, new gambles, new plots. Do not die with a clean sword.

Pick a Quest

Life should be a series of quests ( a personal belief), both the good and bad (slightly evil) ones, especially while you are young and mistakes are easily forgivable. A few days ago, I was reading an article on finding a good quest. Quests are divided into 4 sections,

The good and easy quests (e.g building a social network, building a tool for small businesses)

The good and hard quest ( Curing cancer, Building a rocket)

The evil and easy quest ( Build a slop, doing nothing)

The evil and hard quest ( Mass Genocide, Terrorism)

Finding a good quest gives you meaning and a sense of purpose. The purpose of a good quest is to do something that makes your little corner of the world a little better than you met it. Good quests that are easy are hard to find because most of the low-hanging fruit have already been plucked (There will never be a trillion-dollar social media network soon). So, good luck going into the world to do good quests that are hard and long-lasting.

You can just do things

The barrier to entry to intelligence keeps falling at a much faster pace every year. It is easier to learn calculus today than 50 years ago. The advent of technology gave democratic access to information and intelligence, especially with the current adoption of LLMs in the day-to-day usage of regular people. It is easier to get things started today than 10 years ago. The secret to doing things is by trying to do them. You learn by iteration, which comes by doing. Consistency and courage are in shorter supply than intelligence and genius. You need to keep surpassing your limit every day by attempting something you were not capable of a few years ago. Leave the harbour and test your ship at sea. Go do things.

Gamble More

You never know the depth of the consequences of sanctions unless you have skin in the game. You can try to do things; you simply must do things.

In my view, most things are not as risky as they are portrayed; it is all about upskilling to meet the standard in time (skill issue lol), but in all things, avoid ruin, do not get wiped to ZERO. Take more chances

Hope

Okay, this is becoming a constant paragraph for me at this point, but I will repeat it. Always leave a chance to hope for something. Keep something in the pipeline. Have something going on that you are hoping to achieve or scale through. Life gets bleak fast when there is nothing to hope for. Be a radical optimist.

Life is fucking electric.
